A literacy coach and guitar instructor through Honett Studio, Chris has taught English language arts, music theory, music history, philosophy, film, LEGO animation, and more, serving variously at the elementary, middle school, high school, and college levels.

He now teaches with his wife out of Honett Studio, an independent educational project based in Southern Ohio. Focused primarily on music instruction, the studio continues to organically expand its offerings to meet the educational needs of the local community.

Perspective

The public schools have managed to convince many parents that their children’s education would be better left in the hands of state professionals. Believing that we should all maintain a spirit of intellectual humility as we approach children’s education, Chris seeks to also offer alternative perspectives for intentional parents, informed by his own time in the system as well as his experiences in the realm of alternative education.
